Abstract
Aims. The study aims to analyze the influence of attention and creativity on technical-tactical performance in football among children aged 10-12. It highlights how these skills contribute to decision-making and technical executions in a competitive game context.
Methods. The research was carried out in August 2022 within the School Sports Club no. 1, Pajura, at the ”Biruința” sports facilities of Bucharest, with 12 football players aged 10-12-years. The methods of research comprised bibliographic studies, direct observation, videos of matches , tests, statistical-mathematical and graphical representation. For the psychological testing of attention, the monitoring tool and creativity measurement were used. Two bilateral training games were video recorded to monitor the manifestation of attention and creativity in the technical- tactical actions of the offensive and defensive game.
Results. The results of the attention assessment for 10-12-year-old football players show that 58.4% of the participants have a good level of attention, 33.3% have a moderate level and 8.3% have a very good level. Regarding creativity, 79.8% of the players perceived an environment favorable to its development. The results of monitoring the attention and creativity in 10-12-year-old football players highlight an improvement in the accuracy of simple passes in the second half, an increase in offensive duels won (5.08 per game), and a decrease in lost marking actions (7.33 per game), indicating a positive influence of attention on technical-tactical executions. The correlation results suggest that a lower number of simple passes is associated with higher creativity (r = -0.661 in the second half and r = -0.524 overall), while a lower frequency of defensive duels initiated by opponents is negatively correlated with creativity (r = -0.583 in the second half and r = -0.409 overall). Furthermore, attention has a positive influence on the success of complex passes and shots (r = 0.565 in the second half and r = 0.491 overall), while creativity is negatively associated with the success of complex executions (r = -0.308 in the second half) and anticipation (r ranging from -0.439 to -0.565). Higher creativity contributes to a reduction in errors in complex executions (r = -0.569 in the second half and r = -0.454 overall).
Conclusions. The attention and creativity testing analysis correlated with the indices of their manifestation during the football game help determine to what extent it is necessary to intervene at player level through a series of specific means to bring these indices to the intended parameters.
