Two shining examples of excellence in both science and sport

Abstract
Many outstanding personalities in Romanian sports were also well known scientists. Two of them are featured here, Uray Zoltan, the first member of the Budapest Academy, and Nicolae Ghilezan, the second member of the Bucharest Academy, both of them renowned specialists in biology and oncology, respectively. Both were high performance fencers, with participations
in national and international competitions.
